Do you want your future to thank you tomorrow? - Do these things today!
We all look forward to an amazing life tomorrow and that's great faith! But the question is this: How prepared are you for what tomorrow brings?
Taking stocks of our lives sure gives us an opportunity to improve the quality of our lives by making some adjustments to areas of our lives where we seems to have derailed.
Simple lifestyle changes could be all your body needs.
Lets take a deep look at some of the changes I prescribe...
1. READ MORE BOOKS
I overheard someone say that the best place to keep secrets from most humans is to hide them in a book. Have you ever wondered why most people skip the rigor of having to read through the Terms and Conditions? They simply scroll through to the end and click the box that says ''I AGREE''. Learning and Mastering the act of reading is one of the best things you can do to achieve a tomorrow that would thank you. I recently joined a book club and its been an amazing experience.
George Martin once said that ''A Reader lives a thousand lives before he dies and the Man who never reads lives just one''.
Reading broadens your mind and sets you well ahead of your peers. Read, ask questions, satisfy your curiosity...and see the world ahead of you using your power of imagination. Readers are Leaders...
2. LOVE SELF
Learning to fall head over heels in love with yourself is another step to an amazing tomorrow. Low self esteem has crippled a lot of relationships and caused more harm than good to most individuals. Learn to forgive, Take off grudges, Exercise more, Eat right, dance and do the things that make you happy. No one has the right to make you unhappy.. Join a dance class, a prayer group or any union where love abounds. Love your self..
3. REDUCE YOUR SUGAR INTAKE
Taking active steps to reduce the amount of sugar you take is very important. Swap that frizzy drink for sparkling water. Take out all the frizzy drinks in your fridge and replace them with water. Workers behind a desk may tend to feel like snacking which is absolutely normal. I recommend some almonds and nuts for mid-day snacking as these will do rather than biscuits, sweets and cakes. Drink plenty water.
4. START A POSITIVE ADDICTION
What's your addiction? Most people have negative addictions and this is not good for the future you aspire for. Someone once told me something about the rule of thumbs - He says it takes 21 days to develop a new habit.. So what new positive habits do you want to develop? It does not have to be fitness oriented, it could be learning to smile more, never getting angry, reading a new book every month, joining a cook club, dance club, fitness club etc. Learning to sing if you have a passion for it could also be a great addiction..
Be youthful... Improve the quality of your life.
5. RECORD YOUR PROGRESS
Get a scale at home. Learn to weigh yourself first thing every morning after relieving yourself. Record your food intakes, weights and exercises in a dairy or health app and keep track of your health statistics. Be disciplined...
6. LEARN TO BE GRATEFUL
Appreciate each day and learn to be grateful. Stop the murmurs and work hard towards your goal. When people learn to be thankful, they advance more in life. A heart filled with gratitude is open to newer things and greater prospects.
7. GET CHECKED
Regular appointments with the doctor and getting yourself checked is a good start. Comprehensive check-ups of your vitals keeps you knowledgeable of the current state of your body. Prevention is always better than cure. Lives have been saved just by early detection.
8. BE PRAYERFUL
Above all, I encourage you to believe in the existence of a supreme being and learn to worship. He blesses and he heals... He assures of a better, brighter and glorious future if you learn to trust Him wholeheartedly.
It would be amazing to have a future that will thank us tomorrow so lets start doing these things today.
Before I go, I would love to ask that you tell me what extra things you are doing today that would make your future THANK YOU!!.......*winks*
LIVING HEALTHY....
